Alberto Firrincieli is an Italian pianist, harpsichordist, composer, and scholar. He has been conferred the title of Knight of the Star of Italy (Cavaliere della Stella d’Italia) and with the prize Ragusani nel mondo, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to music education and research, In 2019, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall, performing a Toccata by Frescobaldi as a special guest and jury member for the IBLA GRAND PRIZE competition. Additionally, he won the second prize in the International Contest SIMM 2018 – New Music for Harpsichord with the work “13 new variations on La Folia”, published by DaVinci publishing,

He currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Music Entrepreneurship at Assumption University of Thailand, where he teaches students majoring in piano, harpsichord, and composition, among other subjects.

An active educator and researcher, Professor Firrincieli is the founder of the pedagogical method THINK IN MUSIC (www.thinkinmusic.org), a student-centered approach designed to foster musical awareness by integrating the traditional piano curriculum with the study of improvisation, composition, and counterpoint, following the legacy of great masters such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Liszt. This method was conceived to solve and often prevent technical and musical difficulties that typically arise from ineffective learning and practice strategies. His video courses are available on his YouTube channel and are distributed through iClassical Academy and Cicerone Music Club.

His most significant publication is the book A Method-Logical Approach to J. S. Bach’s Two-Part Inventions. Drawing upon Bach’s own instructions, he advocates an approach rooted in comprehension and creative engagement with music, combining logical reasoning with artistic imagination. This stands in marked contrast to conventional methods that rely heavily on rote memorization.

Moreover, he has recorded three CDs (released by Naxos and DaVinci Publishing), and he curated over ten music editions (published by Edizioni Pian&Forte and DaVinci Publishing), and published academic articles dedicated to music pedagogy.

Professor Alberto Firrincieli is frequently invited by international institutions as a guest speaker, performer and adjudicator. He regularly presents recitals, lectures, masterclasses, and workshops, and contributes his scholarly work at international conferences and symposia.
